What personal data we collect and why we collect it

BnB Tilburg collects personal data for a limited number of purposes. The website bnb-tilburg.nl collects personal data, such as name, company name, email address, full address details, telephone number, dietary preferences / additional requirements & comments, a period of stay and payment processing details. This information is processed for:

• Registering Pre-Bookings and On-line Bookings
• Administrative handling, payments as well as handling of taxes and municipal levies (tourist tax)
• Night register.
• Contacting and maintaining contact details.
• Analytics: The website of BnB Tilburg also collects data to improve the website with Google Analytics. This data is anonymous and not linked to personal data.
• Sending once or twice a year a newsletter via email to maintain customer contact.

These newsletters are on the one hand commercial and on the other hand aimed at knowledge sharing. For the purpose of the newsletter, First name and email address are collected. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link at the bottom of the newsletter.

By using our website, we process your data with your consent, in order to execute communication with a view to your (possible) forthcoming stay with us. The data BnB Tilburg receives and processes are managed by means of:

• WP-Engine: Reservations made via the website are stored in the booking engine plugin of our website.
• SiteGround: The website and backups of the website are hosted at SiteGround. Data that you leave behind on the BnB Tilburg website are stored on Siteground’s servers.
• Gmail: The email of BnB Tilburg is hosted by Gmail. If you contact us via the booking form or via email, the emails in question will be stored on Gmail’s servers.
• Mailchimp list-builder: The newsletters are sent with Mailchimp. The moment you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address and first name are automatically saved in the appropriate Mailchimp list.

Retention

Your data is kept by Bed and Breakfast Tilburg Gust van Dijk for a longer period of time. Never longer than is necessary to execute activities. After which we contact you for further verification, after which you receive an overview of your details.

To identify yourself a valid ID card or a valid Passport incorporating a recognisable passport portrait photo needs to be presented. The passport registration number, ID card number or BSN number may be made unreadable. We also need the arrival and departure dates of your stay. The aim is to respond within one week to our request. Deleting data is only possible if it does not conflict with mandatory handling deadlines or retention obligations or for security reasons.

The privacy statement may change when law changes. It is therefore advisable to consult this statement periodically.

Obligations

BnB-Tilburg processes personal data on the basis of legitimate interest, namely a commercial interest and contract law. An agreement between parties needs basic elements required for the agreement to be a legally enforceable contract creating mutual obligations enforceable by law. Like the offering of services or products through our website, by email or for our newsletters.

The information that is required is the minimum required information for offering services or products. For example, your email address is required to be able to send confirmation of the reservation request. If these compulsory details are not provided, Bed and Breakfast Tilburg cannot offer the service nor enter into an agreement about services with you. It is legally necessary to share the information about your place of residence that we have collected from you regarding your stay at our B&B with the municipal levies department of the municipality of Tilburg in order to comply with the legal obligation to pay tourist tax. This is an active retention obligation in order to be able to demonstrate the correct administrative processing in the event of a random check.

Disclosure

Bed and Breakfast Tilburg reserves the right to disclose the data when legally required or when BnB-Tilburg deems this justified to comply with a legal request/proceedings or to protect the rights, property or safety of Bed and Breakfast Tilburg. In doing so, we always try to respect the legal right to the privacy of our customers as much as possible.
